Generally spanning the course of three days or more, group sessions can be customized to advance eight to ten dogs per session. The structure is based on a model of multiple sessions, interspersed with homework assignments and a series of drills of varying intensity that can be practiced at home.
This course model gives Pat ample opportunity to observe and become familiar with the teams. He designs setups for the highest-level dogs and then keeps honing the work to meet the level of each individual dog.
Custom springer-training sessions give both dogs and handlers plenty of land and water experience, and effective core drills that address specific training issues. Participants will come away with the skills and knowledge to become a more accomplished handler, and a strong team leader. Additionally, an intensive pre-training two-day jump-start is often available prior to the group sessions
This format is run in a similar manner to the “Recurring Training Group” sessions. The difference is that they are not set up to have follow up sessions. Pat will provide homework and guidelines for development, and will also likely recommend future contact, either through future workshops or phone or email consultation.
